Anaemia prevalence was significantly associated with the level of CD4 T cell count (P = 0.001) with the highest value recorded in children with 200–499 cells/μL (72.7 %, n = 32) and the lowest in those with ≥500 cells/μL (38.9 %, n = 56) as shown in Table 3. The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is anemia (phenotype).
