Although further studies are necessary to corroborate our results, extending the investigation to other types of tumors and involving a larger number of patients, our study nevertheless clearly indicates that Grp94 in complexes with IgG can both stimulate the secretion of specific inflammatory cytokines and mostly inhibit the production of IgG in PBMCs of cancer patients, both these effects having predictable positive implications for halting the tumor growth in vivo. The gene discussed is HSP90B1; the disease is neoplasm.
