In this study, the association of serum VEGF levels with the mutant alleles of VEGF-A (C936T and A1154G) showed cut-off value of 225.5 pg/mL, with specificity of 100% and sensitivity of 75% (C936T) comparing G1 and G3, conferring potential to serum VEGF levels in the diagnosis of HCC, which should be confirmed in numerous patient samples. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and hepatocellular carcinoma.
