The prostate tissue from all 177 BPH cases was processed for PCR analysis using a set of BTUB 9/2 primer set targeting a well-conserved region in the beta-tubulin genes of T. vaginalis (btub1-2, and −3) which amplified a single predicted 112 bp PCR product visualized on gel electrophoresis. Here, TUBB is linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia.
