TCF3 and neoplasm: There are various transcription factors, the Snail superfamily of zinc-finger transcriptional repressors, such as Snail 1 and Snail 2 (also known as slug); the ZEB family, such as ZEB1 (also known as TCF8 and δEF1) and ZEB2 (also known as Smad-interacting protein 1 (SIP1); and basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH), such as E47 (also known as TCF3), TCF4 (also known as E2-2), and TWIST1 [331], which represent transcription repressors of the CDH1 gene, and, thereby, inhibit tumor malignancy and invasiveness.
