The polymorphism (rs2108622, V433M) in the CYP4F2 gene with a valine to methionine substitution at amino acid 433 was found to be associated with changes in all these processes and, for instance, Fava et al. [14] found that CYP4F2 M433 (V433M) carriers had significantly higher levels of waist, triglycerides, blood pressure (BP), and a composite sum of metabolic syndrome (MetS) phenotypes (MetS score) beside lower high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol with respect to V-homozygotes. Here, CYP4F2 is linked to metabolic syndrome.
