To assess the separate and interactive effects of CR and autophagy deficiency on tumor development and growth, we used a xenograft model in nude mice subcutaneously injected with iBMK cells derived from Atg5+/+ or Atg5−/− mice, immortalized by E1A and dominant-negative p53 expression, stably transfected with a H-RasG12V expression construct, and a p-tFl-RFP-tandem tagged LC3 expression plasmid [28].
