Analysis of the cytokine profiles induced by each strain revealed that CEA10 elicits a more potent interleukin-17 (IL-17) response by dendritic cells in vitro and in the immunocompetent murine model, while AF293 drives a higher production of IL-10, IL-1β, and gamma interferon (IFN-γ), further suggesting that the immune response during an infection is strain dependent (17). This evidence concerns the gene IL17A and infection.
