IL10 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: T2DM rats receiving daily oral doses of polysaccharides (100~400 mg/kg), 50~210 kDa in molecular weight (named PF40), could, not only significantly lower blood sugar, but also reduce total triglyceride levels in serum, and improve insulin tolerance, regulated by the expression of some biomarkers, including TNF-α (Tumor necrosis factor-α), IL-10 (Interleukin-10), Acrp30 (Adipocyte complement-related protein of 30 kDa), etc. [11].
