Previous findings suggested several target genes for miR-96 or miR-182, which influence cancer cell motility: miR-96 was reported to directly regulate KRAS20, Ezrin21, NUAK1 (ref. 22), RECK25, 27, FOXO3a30, MTSS1 (ref. 31), ephrinA5 (ref. 29), Foxf2 (ref. 23) and FOXO1 (ref. 32); miR-182 was also shown to target MTSS1 (refs 28, 31), ephrinA5 (ref. 29), Foxf2 (ref. 23), FOXO3 (ref. 33) and FOXO1 (ref. 32) as well as MITF33, PAI1, TIMP1 and RSU1 (ref. 28).
