Network upstream analysis revealed that rhBMP-2 significantly suppressed the expression of MYC and its downstream target genes AURKA, AURKB, CCNA2, CCNB2, CDC20, CDC25B, CDK1, CDK2, EZH2, and FOXM1. This downregulation of MYC signaling might be responsible for the inhibition of gastric cancer cell growth since we found that rhBMP-2 significantly suppressed SNU484 and SNU638 gastric cancer cell viability by MTT and soft agar colony formation assays. This evidence concerns the gene AURKA and gastric cancer.
