We found a correlation (r2=0.60 and r2=0.57 for responder and non-responder, respectively) between MATE1 transporter mRNA expression and clinical response to imatinib treatment, suggesting that MATE1 levels might enable to predict whether CML patients are likely to respond to imatinib therapy (Figure 2d). The gene discussed is SLC47A1; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
