In line with the metabolic shift we observe in tumors overexpressing stromal HIF-1α, we find that a hypoxia gene signature (based on DCE-MRI derived parameters in cervical cancer) [17] is associated with low tumor blood flow (Fb) and high tumor metabolism (SUVmax, SUVmean and TLG), further suggesting a link between these imaging markers and tumor hypoxia. This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and cervical cancer.
