Amongst the lipid-related variables, apoM was positively correlated with TC, HDL-C, and LDL-C in the hyperlipidaemia group (r = 0.296, P <0.01; r = 0.352, P <0.01; and r = 0.369, P <0.01, respectively), T2DM with hyperlipidaemia group (r = 0.300, P <0.01; r = 0.368, P <0.001; and r = 0.136, P >0.05, respectively), T2DM without hyperlipidaemia group (r = 0.293, P <0.01; r = 0.268, P <0.01; and r = 0.226, P <0.05), and in healthy controls (r = 0.421, P <0.001; r = 0.495, P <0.001; and r = 0.259, P <0.001, respectively). This evidence concerns the gene APOM and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
