Patients suffering from hypoalbuminemia (< 36 g/L) had a significantly shorter survival time of 18.0 months (95% CI 12.7–23.2) compared to 31.7 months (95% CI 26.6–36.8) (p < 0.001) for those with normal albumin level (HR 1.8, 95% CI 1.3–2.4, p < 0.001).
