In a systematic review of molecular and genetic markers in the survival time of 14,678 patients with gliomas, Thuy et al. reported the existence of four main biomarkers: O-6-methylguanine methyltransferase (O-6-MGMT) methylation, isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 and 2 (IDH1/2) mutation, Ki-67/MIB1 proliferation index and loss of heterozygosity on chromosome 10/10q (LOH 10/10q) 29. This evidence concerns the gene MKI67 and central nervous system cancer.
