AKT1 and cancer: Murine embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) retrovirally transduced with cancer-associated IDH1R132H or IDH2R172K, but not with wild-type counterparts, exhibited increased mTORC1 and mTORC2 signalling as highlighted by enhanced phosphorylation of p70S6K, S6 and Rictor, and AKT, respectively (Fig. 1b and Supplementary Fig. 1a).
