In discriminating DLB from AD clinically, dopamine transporter (DAT) imaging [1] and [123I]metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) myocardial scintigraphy [2] are useful because they detect early disturbances of the nigrostriatum or peripheral sympathetic nervous system in patients with DLB. This evidence concerns the gene SLC6A3 and Alzheimer disease.
