A recent study has demonstrated that in the MMTV-PyMT breast cancer model, neutrophils express high levels of the lipids leukotriene B4 (LTB4) and cysteinyl leukotrienes C4, D4 and E4 (LTC/D/E4), products of the arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase (Alox5) enzyme [153]. This evidence concerns the gene ALOX5 and breast carcinoma.
