The telomerase reverse transcriptase-cleft lip and palate transmembrane protein 1-like protein (TERT-CLPTM1L) locus including the gene encoding hTERT gene is rarely but recurrently targeted by somatic chromosomal translocations to immunoglobulin heavy (IGH) and non-IG loci in B-cell neoplasms, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, mantle cell lymphoma and splenic marginal zone lymphoma. This evidence concerns the gene CLPTM1L and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
