As a proof of principle, we selected four tumor suppressor genes, DAPK1, DBC1, MIR34A, and MIR34B/C, which have been shown to be frequently methylated in DLBCL [22–25], and investigated if aberrant methylation levels of these markers could be detected in plasma from patients with DLBCL. Here, MIR34A is linked to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
