Compared to [TIMP 2]*[IGFBP7] urine concentrations, serum creatinine concentrations on day one after surgery as well as the change in GFR from preoperative baseline to POD 1 yielded low predictive capacities for AKI 2/3 (serum creatinine: AUC 0.629, 95 % CI 0.438–0.870, SE 0.11, p = 0.189, cut off 1.37 mg/dl, sensitivity 50 %, specificity 82.1 %; ∆ GFR: AUC 0.586, 95 % CI 0.359–0.944, SE 0.149, p = 0.196, cut off 7 ml/min/1.73 m2, sensitivity 62.5 %, specificity 82.1 %;). This evidence concerns the gene IGFBP7 and acute kidney injury.
