SLC1A5 and viral infectious disease: In summary, although the silencing suppression activity of 2b relies on its dsRNA binding capacity and is independent of its interaction with AGO (Duan et al., 2012), we found that in the context of virus infection, the 2b-AGO interaction was indispensable for interference with RDR-dependent antiviral silencing in Arabidopsis, and the effect was remarkable in the presence of the 2b dsRNA-binding activity.
