An inflammatory process produces substantial amounts of proinflamatory cytokines, such as Interleukin-1Beta (IL-1beta), Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha (TNF-alpha), which are known to cause cognitive dysfunction (Gądek-Michalska et al., 2013; Donzis and Tronson, 2014; Jing et al., 2015), especially in learning and memory impairment (Farr et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and memory impairment.
