Finally, our study suggests that not individual, but only combinatorial knockdown of AKT2, GNA12, GYS1 and SRF mimics the functions of miR-564 as a simultaneous inhibitor of proliferation, EMT, migration and invasion of breast cancer supporting the notion that the mechanistic effects of miRNAs need to be examined at a network level to better elucidate their function. This evidence concerns the gene GNA12 and breast cancer.
