In contrast, in the combined dataset including stage I breast cancers from untreated patients, where the absence of treatment and the information on DMFS allowed testing pure prognostic effects, stratification by TGM2 expression revealed a statistically significant longer DMFS in patients with primary tumors expressing higher TGM2 levels (log-rank p = 0.027, n = 611). Here, TGM2 is linked to breast cancer.
