The levelsof IL-6 and its receptors are elevated in OSA patients compared with that of controls.Oyama et al. (22) reported that the basalapnea-hypopnea index (AHI) correlates with TNF-α levels (r=0.420, P=0.017), and thatplasma concentrations of TNF-α and IL-6 decreased significantly with continuous positiveairway pressure therapy. Here, TNF is linked to obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
