No significant difference was seen in the dermal NRP-1 positive area in skin of diabetic subjects as compared to controls (p = 0.56; Control: 0.29+/-0.27%; DM Type 1: 0.14+/-0.13%; DM Type 2: 0.23+/-0.31%; DM Type 2 NP+: 0.13+/-0.12%; Fig 6D). This evidence concerns the gene NRP1 and diabetes mellitus.
