EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma: Advances in the treatment of non-smallcell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the past decade include third-generation platinum doublets, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in EGFR mutation-positive lung cancer, anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) TKIs in ALK rearrangement-positive disease, maintenance systemic therapy, and second- or third-line treatment, which improve survival [2–9].
