OGA and cancer: It has been shown that LDs could associate with the proteasome [118] and positively regulate its function via LD proteins such as protein-O-linked N-acetyl-β-d-glucosaminidase (OGA) in adipocytes [119], and cell death-inducing DFF45-like effector (CIDE) proteins in adipocytes and cancer cells [120,121,122], suggesting potential contribution of these proteins to maintaining ER homeostasis in cancer cells exposed to hypoxia (Figure 3).
