Since the establishment of a correlation between the biomarker expression and severity of neoplasia is the initial step to assess the potential use of a biomarker for cervical cancer screening[20], we evaluated p16/Ki-67 co-expression in different cytological and histological categories, and found that the test positivity of p16/Ki-67 increased significantly with disease severity. The gene discussed is CDKN2A; the disease is cervical carcinoma.
