IPA of the 53 genes in the ALG9 G × BMI trans-network revealed enrichment for inhibition of matrix metalloproteases (Benjamini-Hochberg corrected p = 3.6 × 10−8), oxidative phosphorylation (Benjamini-Hochberg corrected p = 3.1 × 10−4), and gene membership of a cardiovascular disease network (Figure 4B), indicating that BMI-dependent regulatory effects at rs3851570 have a wide-ranging role in metabolism and structural remodeling of adipose tissue. Here, ALG9 is linked to cardiovascular disorder.
