T-LAK cell-originated protein kinase (TOPK/PBK), a member of serine-threonine mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase family, is found highly expressed in certain types of cancer including breast [4], colon [5] and lung [6] cancer and HCC [7], and activation of TOPK is closely linked to the tumor development. The gene discussed is PBK; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
