Our previous investigations have shown that low expression of LASS2 is associated with poor prognosis in patients with breast cancer10, and deletion of LASS2 is associated with a high risk of spontaneous or diethylnitrosamine (DEN)-induced HCC in hepatocyte-specific LASS2-knockout (KO) mice models13, 14. The gene discussed is CERS2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
