In an earlier study of CSC populations defined by CD133+/ALDHhigh and CD133+/EpCAM+ separated from Huh7, HepG2, and Hep3B, well-differentiated human HCC cell lines were deemed to be epithelial by expression of E-cadherin and lack of Vimentin. The gene discussed is CDH1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
