In addition, the result of a subgroup analysis based on sample type suggested that the CDH13 methylation status was significant in both tissue and urine samples (OR = 53.94, P < 0.001; OR = 7.71, P < 0.001; respectively), indicating that the detection of CDH13 methylation has the potential to be a non-invasive biomarker in the urine, which may aid in the early screening for and the diagnosis of bladder cancer.
