The frequency of PD-1+TIM-3+ cells was significantly increased in CD4+ and CD8+ T cell population in tumor tissues compared to AEM (48.28 ± 4.818% vs. 35.10 ± 4.047%, p = 0.0003; 52.63 ± 5.368% vs. 35.60 ± 4.918%, p < 0.0001) and in PBMC (48.28 ± 4.818% vs. 20.03 ± 3.465%, p < 0.0001; 52.63 ± 5.368% vs. 36.90 ± 5.235%, p < 0.0001) from esophageal cancer patients (Figure 6).
