Very recently, it was shown that extracellular OAS2 could lead to immune dysfunction in oral SCC8, suggesting a cancer-promoting role for OAS2. As OAS2 expression levels differ between the subtypes of SCCHN, it remains to be elucidated whether this is a common function of OAS2 in SCCHN. Here, OAS2 is linked to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
