Members of the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases have been shown to have distinct distribution patterns on cancer cell membranes (Yang et al., 2007; Steinkamp et al., 2014), leading to computational studies from our group that predict the impact of critical variables such as receptor co-expression, density and dimer off-rates (Hsieh et al., 2008; Pryor et al., 2013, 2015). The gene discussed is NTRK1; the disease is cancer.
