TP53 and cancer: The Cu compound released from the HSA complex then eliminates cancer cells, possibly through diverse anticancer mechanisms (Figure 9B) that induce DNA damage (Figure 7A), resulting in activation of the p53 pathway, cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase (Figure 7B), and mitochondria-mediated apoptosis by regulation of the expression of Bcl-2 family proteins (Figure 8).
