As shown in Figure 3, the mutant showed a reduced capacity to exclude the lysosome marker LAMP-1 at 24 h post-infection (about 45% co-localization), as compared with the S2308 strain (about 20% co-localization), indicating that deletion of pyk decreased the ability of the Brucella to avoid the fusion of the BCV with lysosome. This evidence concerns the gene PHKA2 and infection.
