FGF2 and neoplasm: Integrins, particularly αvβ3, are involved in angiogenesis through interaction with vascular epithelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor, fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) which collectively aid tumor development and growth [14, 15].
