Inhibition of Chel A-induced autophagy by application of Bafilomycin A1, an autophagy inhibitor, led to a markedly accumulation of PHLPP2 protein levels, as compared to that observed in T24T cells treated with Chel A alone (Figure 5E), revealing that PHLPP2 degradation might be involved in autophagy in human bladder cancer cells. The gene discussed is PHLPP2; the disease is urinary bladder carcinoma.
