In this study, we tested the hypothesis that the -1575G>A (rs243866), -1059G>A (rs17859821), and -790G>T (rs243864) polymorphisms in the MMP-2 gene promoter are associated with susceptibility to HF and could predict all-cause death and HF-related death in Brazilian outpatients with reduced LV ejection fraction (LVEF). This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and hydrops fetalis.
