Zhu et al. [77] showed that phosphorylation of AKT1 in glioma and hepatic carcinoma cell lines was reduced simultaneously with AGPS silencing, whereas Benjamin et al. [6] showed that silencing of AGPS in breast cancer (including MCF-7) and melanoma cells manifested in a life-time reduction of cancer cells viability, tumor growth, and invasiveness.
