A recent paper focusing specifically on the role of RBP2 in metastasis of breast cancer cell lines found that the demethylase activity was not required to increase tenascin C expression but that the C- and N-terminal protein domains were required, suggesting the importance of binding partner interactions for disease progression.6 This study is consistent with our data in its implication that interaction with putative, yet unidentified binding partners is an important mechanism by which RBP2 influences metastasis. Here, MBD2 is linked to breast cancer.
