ILK and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia: In chronic lymphocytic leukemia, Liu et al. demonstrated that T315 directly abrogated protein kinase B (Akt) activation by preventing translocation of Akt into lipid rafts, and induced caspase-dependent apoptosis by suppressing B-cell receptor, CD49d, CD40, and Toll-like receptor 9-mediated Akt activation in an ILK-independent manner [5].
