Plasma alanine transaminase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) were increased 1.6-fold (p < 0.05), 2.0-fold (p < 0.05), and 13.0-fold (p < 0.001), respectively, in animals with combined steatosis and cholestasis versus cholestasis alone (Fig. 1A).
