TFEB and pancreatic neoplasm: It can also inhibit autophagy by several possible mechanisms including diminution of lysosome acidification (as suggested by studies in SHSY-5Y [23] and MCF-7 cells [24]), decreased nuclear translocation of transcription factor EB (TFEB), a transcription factor for autophagy and lysosomal genes (as suggested by studies in HEK293 and human pancreatic cancer cells) [25], and perhaps under certain conditions by suppressing the activity of AMPK [21,22,26] or activating mTORC1 [24].
