However, Barx2 overexpressing cells showed reduced nuclear β-catenin, an indicator of active Wnt/β-catenin pathway, and increased cytoplasmic β-catenin compared with control cells (Figure 7a), supporting a role for Barx2 as a negative regulator of the canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway in GC cells.
